What is a clearance product?
Our clearance products are one-off items, available on a first-come, first-served basis and offered at reduced prices as we make room for new stock. These products are currently held at one of our stores but can also be purchased conveniently online. As clearance items, some products may have minor marks, imperfections or other defects; where this is the case, any known issues will be clearly stated in the product description below. Clearance is a great opportunity to pick up a quality product for less, but once it’s gone, it’s gone.

At the heart of the Avellino Comfort mattress is a 3000 pocket spring system. Pocket springs are individually wrapped within fabric pockets, allowing each spring to move independently. This independent movement enables the mattress to respond more closely to the sleeper, helping to support individual pressure points and distribute body weight more evenly. As the springs are not directly connected to one another, the system can also help reduce motion transfer between sleeping partners, providing more personalised support throughout the night.
Complementing the pocket spring system is a luxurious combination of wool, silk, cotton and cashmere fillings. These natural materials provide soft, supportive cushioning while bringing their individual qualities to the mattress. Traditional finishing techniques further enhance the mattress construction. It is hand tufted, with fabric tufts distributed across the surface to secure the loose fillings in position. This helps prevent the fillings from shifting or clumping together and contributes towards maintaining the mattress over time.
The mattress also features hand side stitching, a skilled technique commonly associated with quality pocket sprung mattresses. Cord is passed through multiple points along the mattress sides to secure the pocket springs to the border. This construction helps prevent bulging while improving edge-to-edge support without using a metal rod that could restrict the movement of the springs.
As a turnable mattress, the Avellino Comfort should be flipped regularly so that both sleeping surfaces receive equal use and settlement. It should also be rotated from head to toe as part of regular mattress care, helping to reduce excessive settlement of the fillings in one particular area.
